DISTRICT-18 TOURNAMENT
Mon, June 28:  West Nyack (15) vs New City American (7)
The 10 year old all-star team opened the District 18 tournament with a 15-7 win against New City American.  West Nyack’s 16 hit attack was led by Matt Jung who had three hits and 5 RBI.  Brendan Lynch, Kevin Montague, Camden Ailinger, Michael Diskin and Tryston Vazquez had two hits each.  On the mound Kevin Montague pitched 2 and 2/3 inning for the win and Russell Rubi pitched the final 3 and 1/3 innings for the save.  Rubi allowed only one unearned run and one hit over the final 3 and 1/3 innings.  In the field Michael Diskin made a fine play in center field and also had an assist.

Fri, July 2:  Haverstraw (11) vs West Nyack (1)
Camden Ailinger tripled in Michael Diskin for our only run.
This loss to Haverstraw places All-Star 10's into the Losers Bracket.

Mon, July 5:  South Orangetown (17) vs West Nyack (6)
This loss eliminates West Nyack from Districts.

Sun, July 18, 7:00:  West Nyack (9)  vs  NVC (3) 
The West Nyack 10 year old all-star defeated Nyack/Valley Cottage 9-3 to advance to the quarterfinals of the SOLL tournament.  Russell Rubi threw a complete game three hitter throwing 58 pitches 46 of them for strikes.  Matt Jung led the offensive attack for West Nyack with three hits while Kevin Montague added two hits, a triple and a double.  On the defensive side Kevin Montague played a great game a shortstop making several fine plays.  John Longo and Brendan Lynch also made several nice plays at first base and second base, respectively.
